A virtual tableau of medical anguish and resilience, meticulously crafted through syringe-applied watercolors.
Objective:
To collaboratively design and develop a virtual exhibit with IMAS and artist Christopher Minan-Fitzgerald that seamlessly translates the emotive essence and the unique physical application techniques of the original watercolor artworks focused on COVID-19 patients.
Solution:
The design strategy involved a virtual replication of a sterile medical environment as the exhibit backdrop, complete with subtly pulsating walls to mimic the idea of ‘living’ medical spaces. The artwork was digitized in high-resolution, preserving the intricate details and textures created by syringes and medical tools. An interactive layer allowed viewers to explore further into the artist and the creation process.
